Bangladesh Sramik Federation
The biennial council of Bangladesh Sramik Federation was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad in the city’s Topkhana Road on Saturday. In the programme the speakers demanded free trade union rights and declaration of minimum wage board for the workers. They also demanded safe workplace for employees specially women and amendment of labour law. The function was addressed, among others, by Joint Coordinator of Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad Naimul Ahsan Jewel, General Secretary of Bangladesh Sanjukta Sramik Federation Mokaddem Hossain, Vice-President of Bangladesh Swadhinata Party Abdul Gafur Miah and Convenor of Samajtantrik Front Hamidul Haque. President of the federation Golam Sattar presided over the event.
Jatiya Protibandhi Unnyan Foundation
Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon said the people with disabilities are not a burden for society, rather they can play role in the development of society, if they get necessary supports. “The present government is a disabled-friendly government and the Prime Minister has special initiatives in this field. ” he added. Menon said this on Friday while speaking at a workshop organised by officials and employees of Protibandhi Seba O Shahajyo Kendra Kolyan Parishad of Jatiya Protibandhi Unnyan Foundation at BMA auditorium in the city. Neuro Development Protection Trust Professor Dr Golam Rabbani presented a key-note paper on the occasion. He urged all to come forward to help the people with disabilities as they can play role in developing themselves as well as the country. He said the Jatiya Protibandhi Unnayan Foundation would be made into a directorate soon.
