Kabi Jasimuddin Hall Alumni Assoc, DU
Dhaka University (DU) Kabi Jasimuddin Hall Alumni Association (KJHAA) holds its first reunion on Saturday in the Alumni Hall Auditorium at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university. DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the function while Prime Minister’s Energy Affairs Adviser Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury addressed it as the chief guest. Marking the occasion, a colorful rally led by VC Akhtaruzzaman, was brought out from Jasimuddin Hall premises which paraded the main streets of the campus.
Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee
A seminar on the occasion of Professor Kabir Chowdhury Memorial Speech-7 organised by Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee was held at the Jatiya Press Club. In the programme held on the ninth instant the speakers said the Awami League government should be re-elected in the next general election for rooting out communalism and fundamentalism.”The people of the country have to extend their support to the government to build a progressive and economically developed country in line with the spirit of War of Liberation,” they added. The speakers also said the anti-liberation forces are hatching conspiracy to hamper development process of the country. “So, we have to remain alert to foil any ill attempt of communal forces,” they added. The function was addressed, among others, by Cultural personality Ramendu Majumdar, Educationist Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury and President of the Jatiya Press Club Shafiqur Rahman. Adviser of the organisation journalist Kamal Lohani presided over the event.
