Workers Party of Bangladesh
A meeting of the Workers Party of Bangladesh Politburo marking the grand rally of the party scheduled to be held on March 3 at Suhrawardy Udyan was held at its office in the city. In the programme held on Tuesday leaders of the party said BNP doesn’t want to take part in the next parliament elections as the party is now busy in hatching conspiracies to foil the polls. They urged the party men to be united to resist any conspiracy for the greater interest of the country and its people.The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the party Fazle Hossain Badsha, Politburo members Bimal Biswas, Nurul Hasan, Dr Sushanto Das, Mahmudul Hasan Manik, Nur Ahmed Bakul, Iqbal Kabir Jahid, Hazera Sultana, Kamrul Ahsan and Advocate Mustafa Luthfullha. Party President and Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon presided over the event.
JU Journalists’ Association
The newly elected executive committee members of Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association took charge for the year of 2018. Newly elected President Nur Alam Himel, Vice-President Plabon Tarique, Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun Niloy, Joint Secretary Md Asaduz Zaman, Treasurer Taukir Rahman and Office Secretary SM Alamgir Mizan, among others of the association. took the charge for next one year at a ceremony held recently on the campus. The association also accorded a farewell reception for its immediate past President Moudud Ahmmed Sujan, Secretary Shoriful Kabir Shamim and the outgoing campus reporters, who have already completed their post graduation.The function was addressed, among others, by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Farzana Islam, its Treasurer Prof Sheikh Md Monjurul Huq, Editor of Daily Jugantor Saiful Islam and President of JU Teachers’ Association Prof Farid Ahmed. Addressing the function, JU VC Prof Farzana Islam urged journalists to maintain objectivity during their reporting and assured of providing all-out supports to the association.
