Bangladesh Chhatra Juba Oikya Parishad
A rally organised by Bangladesh Chhatra Juba Oikya Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club. In the programme held on the twenty seventh instant the leaders of the parishad demanded recovering of occupied land of the Shri Shri Dhakeshwari Jatiya Mandir. The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation Ramen Mondal, its Office Secretary Arjun Chandra Das and Kishore Kumar Basu Roy Chowdhury. President of the parishad Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee presided over the event.
BD Federal Union of Journalists
Journalists’ organisations across the country, including Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for declaring the 9th wage board for the journalists. In a joint statement issued on Monday BFUJ President Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Secretary General Omar Faruq, DUJ President Shaban Mahmood and General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury congratulated the premier and the government for announcing the wage board. Chittagong Union of Journalists, Khulna Union of Journalists, Rajshahi Union of journalists and Mymensingh Union of Journalists also hailed the Prime Minister. Journalist associations across the country observed a series of programmes for long under the leadership of BFUJ to press home their demand for realizing the 9th wage board, the statement said.
