A discussion on ‘Natundhara in Election and Our Role’ organised by Natundhara Bangladesh was held in the auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city’s Segunbagicha on Saturday. Chairman of the organisation Momin Mehedi was present as the chief guest. While speaking Momin said people hate the politics of anti-liberation forces and terrorists. The common people always favour the politice of patriotic forces. The function was also addressed, among others, by Senior Vice-Chairman of the organisation Shanata Farzana, its Presidium Member Ahmedul Kabir Khan Kiron, Vice-Chairman Dr Noorjahan Nira and its Senior Joint Secretary General Mahmud Hasan Taher. Presidium Member of the organisation Prof Shubhankar Debnath presided over the event.
Debate for Democracy
The grand finale and prize distribution of debating competition for university students organised jointly by Debate for Democracy and ATN Bangla was held at FDC auditorium in the city’s Tejgaon on Saturday. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed was present as the chief guest. While speaking Tofail said the Election Commission (EC) will conduct the next national election independently under the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and there will be no interference from the government side. “The 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election will be held as per the schedule and the government will assist the Election Commission in holding the polls. I hope that all political parties including BNP will participate in the polls,” he added. ATN Bangla Chairman Mahfuzur Rahman and former Chairman of United Commercial Bank (UCB) M A Sabur attended the programme as special guests.
