Natundhara Bangladesh
A rally organised by Natundhara Bangladesh was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday. In the programme the speakers said that hartal and corruption are the weapons of anti-state terrorists. They called upon to ban all the activities of the anti-state people. The speakers also called upon to ban the politics of anti-liberation forces Jamaat-Shibir. The function was addressed, among others, by Chairman of the organisation Momin Mehedi, its senior Vice-Chairman Shanta Farzana, Presidium Member Ahmedul Kabir Khan Kiron, Vice-Chairman Dr Noorjahan Nira, President of the organisation’s Dhaka Mahanagar Dakshin unit Mahamud Hasan Taher, President of its Jhenidah unit Manir Jaman and Lubna Akhter. The speakers called upon all to be united to build Bangladesh as ‘Sonar Bangla’ dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Muktijoddha Foundation
A discussion on Victory Day organized by Muktijoddha Foundation was held at Bangladesh Medical Association(BMA) auditorium in the city’s Topkhana Road. In the programme held recently Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) ASM Feroz was present as the chief guest. While speaking Feroz said the real freedom fighters were neglected during the past BNP-Jamaat regime. “BNP used the freedom fighters while it was in state power. But they (freedom fighters) and their family members were deprived of all benefits”, he added. Recalling the plights of the family members of freedom fighters, the chief whip said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has shown due respect to the war veterans and martyrs.”Many freedom fighters did not get job and by this time, they have crossed the age-limit. The Prime Minister has created job opportunities for their grand children,” the liberation war veteran added.
The function was addressed, among others, by BMA President and former MP Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Director General of National Muktijoddha Council M Mizanur Rahman, Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman’s wife Mili Rahman and Vice-President of the foundation Dr Shahidul Islam. President of the organisation Principal Gazi Delwar Hossain, also a Sub-sector Commander of the Liberation War presided over the event.
