A discussion on ‘Rohingya Problems and Drug Addiction: Present Perspective’ organized by the Association for the Prevention of Drug Abuse (Manas) was held at the Jatiya Press Club. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Inu urged all to be united by forming a national taskforce to stop drug abuse. “A national task force should be formed for making a healthy society. Now-a-days, drug abuse is a national problem, he said, adding that those involved in drug smuggling and drug peddling are anti-people. The minister said anti-drug committees should be formed at all educational institutions and at union, upazilla and district levels for rooting out such anti-social elements and the law enforcement agencies must take a zero tolerance policy for resolving the problem. Inu said, with the help of the people, the government has been able to minimize militant activities and eve-teasing in the country.
