Natundhara Bangladesh
A discussion organised by Natundhara Bangladesh was held at its office in the city’s Topkhana road on Friday. In the programme the speakers urged the government to reduce house rent and price of essential commodities including rice, oil, electricity and gas. The speakers said it is possible to build Sonar Bangladesh through reducing prices of essentials. The function was addressed, among others, by Chairman of the organisation Momin Mehedi, its Senior Vice-Chairman Principal Shanta Farzana, Presidium Member Ahmedul Kabir Khan Kiron, Vice-Chairman Farhadul Islam Kamal, Haridas Sarker and Dr Nurjahan Nira. Executive President of Jatiya Sangskritidhara Ripon Khan expressed its solidarity with the function.
JU Science Club
The ‘4th Math Olympiad-2017’ organised by Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC) was concluded at the Zahir Raihan auditorium on the Jahangirngar University (JU) campus. At the concluding session held recently JU Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam addressed the function as the chief guest. Addressing the function, Prof Farzana Islam said, ‘There is no alternative to practice of mathematics at the era of science and technology. So, students of the school level will have to stress on mathematics specially’. She also thanked JUSC for organizing such type of event on the campus. The function was addressed, among others, by noted Physicist Prof A A Mamun, Advisor of JUSC Prof Khabir Uddin, Prof Kabirul Bashar, Associate Professor Sharif Hossain, Associate Professor Fokhrul Islam.Noted Scientist and former member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Prof Dr. Sharif Enamul Kabir and former Chairman of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Prof Dr. Naiyyum Choudhury were honoured at the function. About 3000 students from more than 60 schools of Savar, Nabinagar and Dhaka took part at this event. President of the club Shahriyar Kabir Shohag presided over the event.
