Natundhara Bangladesh

A discussion on ‘Political Environment of Instability and Way to Overcome’ organised by Natundhara Bangladesh was held in Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium in the city’s Topkhana Road on Monday. In the programme the speakers demanded to stop religion-based politics to build ‘Sonar Bangladesh’ dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They also called to ban all religion-based institutions including Islami Bank. The function was addressed, among others, by Presidium Member of the organisation Lion Dr Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, Senior Vice-Chairman Principal Shanta Farzana, Vice-Chairman Farhadul Islam Kamal and its Secretary General Chanchal Mehmud Kashem. Chairman of the organisation Momin Mehedi presided over the event.

Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad

A discussion organised by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad was held at the Jatiya Press Club on Monday. Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said BNP joined dialogue with the Election Commission (EC) as the party accepted the EC. Thanking BNP for joining dialogue with the EC, Hasan said BNP leaders seemed in a happy mood as they emerged from the dialogue though few days ago BNP raised question over the capability of EC and CEC. Criticizing BNP’s proposals to the EC, he said BNP’s proposal to dissolve the parliament before election is unconstitutional. About the Rohingya issue, Hasan said the entire world lauded the role of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for standing beside the persecuted Rohingya people, but BNP did not appreciate it. “BNP showed their political inferiority complex here,” he added. President of the parishad Lion Chittaranjan Das presided over the programme. The function was also addressed, among others, by cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote President Golam Quddus, AL leader Advocate Balaram Poddar and Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana.
