Muktijuddher Chetonay Pragotisheel Shikshak Samaj
A discussion on National Mourning Day-2017 and 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised by the leaders of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) unit of Muktijuddher Chetonay Pragotisheel Shikshak Samaj (MCPSS) was held at the university’s central cafeteria on the twentieth instant. In the programme the speakers demanded to bring back all absconding killers of Bangabandhu. They termed assassination of Bangabandhu as part of deep-rooted conspiracy hatched by the defeated anti-liberation forces of 1971 to
make the nation leaderless and destroy independence. They called upon the government for bringing back all absconding killers of Bangabandhu for execution of the court’s verdict announced against them to free the nation from the stigma. They urged teachers of the university and common people for turning the mourn into energy to build a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu under the leadership of his able daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Convener of BRUR unit of MCPSS Prof Dr Abu Kamal Md Farid Ul Islam presided over the discussion moderated by its Member-Secretary Mohammad Rafiul Azam Khan.
BFIDC Sramik League
A discussion marking the National Mourning Day organised by Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation (BFIDC) Sramik League was held at its office in city’s Motijheel on Sunday. Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju was present as the chief guest. While speaking Manju said a society, based on rule of law, would have to be built to materialize Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’. “The Pakistanis had kept us suppressed. But Bangabandhu showed that we are a nation of tigers and heroes. He (Bangabandhu) united us all against the Pakistanis,” he added. The minister said, “Instead of the Mourning Day only, we should work always as per the ideology of Bangabandhu. We should materialize the ideology of Bangabandhu after establishing a discrimination-free society.” The function was addressed, among others, by Deputy Minister for Environment and Forest Abdullah Al Islam Jakob and Secretary of the ministry Ishtiaq Ahmed. BFIDC Chairman Abdul Quadir presided over the function.
