Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote
A discussion demanding trial of the people who have sheltered killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held at Shilpakala Academy in the city’s Segunbagicha on Monday. Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is holding meetings with militants in London to create unstable situation in the country. Urging the government to take stern legal actions against the BNP chief on her return, the former Environment Minister said, “She is not only conspiring against the government, but also against the country. Her political companions are those, who did not want the creation of Bangladesh. Hasan said. She is the one, who always sheltered militants. Her husband Ziaur Rahman had appointed killers of Bangabandhu in different foreign missions of Bangladesh after the monstrous crimes, while Khaleda had made one of the killers as the leader of the opposition, he added. The function was also addressed, among others,by its General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana, Awami League leader Balaram Poddar and Swadhinata Shikshak Parishad leader Shahjahan Alam Saju. Adviser of the jote Chittaranjan Das presided over the programme.
Oxfam Bangladesh
Oxfam Bangladesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CAPM Venture Capital and Finance Limited (CVCFL) on Monday to help rural based Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) expedite their loans and grants for marginalized farmers and women. Under the MoU, both the organisations will work together to develop sustainable enterprises that create positive social and environmental impact resulting in generating economic and employment opportunities for marginalized farmers, women and youths. The MoU was signed by M B Akhter, Interim Country Director of Oxfam in Bangladesh and Mustafizur Rahman, Managing Director, CVCFL at Oxfam in Bangladesh office in the city. Senior officials from both the organisations were present on the occasion. Bazlur Rahman Bolon, a rural entrepreneur of a small duck hatchery from Gaibandha was also present on the occasion.
