A meeting organised by Ganotantrik Bam Morcha was held at the office of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) in the city’s Topkhana Road on Wednesday. In the programme the leaders of the organisation bitterly criticized the attack on the organizers of the cultural movement including Poet Arif Bulbul, Amal Akash, and Ahmed Babul at a rally held in Narayanganj for protecting Sundarbans.The leaders said that Rampal Power Plant Project could not be implemented through such heinous attack. They urged the government for immediate cancellation of the Rampal Project avoiding the way of repression for the greater interest of the nation. The function was attemded, among others, by central leaders of the organisation Zonaed Saki, Moshrefa Mishu, Mosharaf Hossain Nannu, Manash Nandi, Hamidul Haque, Bahnishikha Zamali, Shahidul Islam Sabuj and Fakruddin Kabir Atik. Coordinator of the morcha and also General Secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh Saiful Haque presided over the event.

A training workshop titled ‘Crew Resource Management for Instructor’ for Biman Bangladesh Airlines crews organised by International Air Transport Association
(IATA) was held on the 9th instant at Bangladesh Airlines Training Centre in the city.
A world renowned aviation trainer Richard Khan, who has 20,000 hours flying track record is imparting the training workshop that was inaugurated by Biman’s Managing Director and CEO A M Mosaddique Ahmed, a Biman press release said. The Chief of the national flag carrier said Biman is implementing many safety related programmes to ensure foolproof security and safety of the passengers. The safety programmes include safety management system, flight safety, flight data analysis, fire safety, airside safety and emergency response, he added. Biman Bangladesh achieved IATA Operational Safety Audit certificate in last five years consecutively. A total of 16 crews including 13 cockpit crews received the training.
