Awami Muktijoddha Projanma League
A discussion on the occasion of Sheikh Hasina’s Homecoming Day organised by Awami Muktijoddha Projanma League was held on the 27th instant at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city’s Segunbagicha. Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan was present at the programme as the chief guest. While speaking Shajahan said BNP founder Ziaur Rahman had been involved in the conspiracy of the brutal assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”None but Zia promulgated indemnity ordinance to save the self-confessed killers of Bangabandhu and subsequently rewarded them also,” he added. The minister criticized the role of Ziaur Rahman in barring the then Awami League President Sheikh Hasina from entering her ancestral house and even offering Milad and Doa there on Dhanmondi Road 32 soon after her return to Dhaka on May 17 in 1981. Shajahan said, “The country, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is proceeding towards the highway of development as Sheikh Hasina doesn’t believe in politics of vengeance and always works for the people’s development.”
He said Sheikh Hasina after her return could gain people’s faith and made room in people’s hearts. The function was addressed, among others, by Awami League Advisory Council Member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, Projanma League Vice-President M Mejbahuddin Shafi, M Abdullah Babu and Hazi Sharif Ahmed. President of the organisation Advocate Asaduzaman Durjoy presided over the event.
Nagorik Adhikar Sangrakshan Forum
A rally organised by different organisations including Nagorik Adhikar Sangrakshan Forum, Bangladesh Scouts and Guide Fellowship Forum, Green Environment Movement, Subandhan Samaj Kalyan Sangathan, Paribesh Andolon Mancha, Modern Club, Puran Dhaka Nagorik Udyag, Bangladesh Cycle Lane Bastobayon Parishad and Save The Environment Movement was held recently in front of Chwakbazar Shahi Mashjid in the city to meet its various demands including stoppage of mixing health hazardous chemical with different food items including Iftari items. The leaders of the organisations called upon all to be united to meet their demands for the greater interest of the people.
