Bangladesh Shikshak Samity
A press conference organised by Bangladesh Shikshak Samity was held at the VIP Hall of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city’s Segunbagicha on Monday. In the programme the leaders of the samity demanded of the government to meet its various demands including 5% salary enhancement for the MPO enlisted non-government teachers and employees, Baishakhi allowance, full festival bonus and enhancement of allocation in the education sector in the upcoming national budget. President of Bangladesh Shikshak Samity Abu Bakar Siddique presented the written statement. The function was attended, among others, by General Secretary of the samity Principal Abul Kashem, Vice-Presidents Ranjit Kumar Saha, Principal Bazlur Rahman Miah, Ali Asgar Hawlader, its Joint General Secretary Principal Kawsar Ali Sheikh, Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary of the samity Moni Halder, Women Affairs Secretary Begum Nurunnahar, Cultural Affairs Secretary Hena Rani Roy and its Office Secretary Iqbal Hossain. The leaders of the samity called upon all teachers and employees to be united to meet their demands.

Jatiya Protibondhi Forum
A meeting with a delegation of the Jatiya Protibondhi Forum led by former Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Abdul Matin Khasru was held with Finance Minister AMA Muhith in the conference room of the Finance Ministry in the city on Monday. While speaking Muhith said the government is likely to increase allocation for the disabled in the upcoming budget (2017-18) to ensure their normal living and equal rights in the society. “Every year, we allocate budget in various sectors for providing assistance to the physically challenged people. The allocation for disabled will also be increased in the upcoming budget,” he said. The minister said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly for increasing the living standard of
physically challenged people.The forum placed a set of proposals to the Finance Minister in the meeting. The 29-point proposals include proper implementation of Disabled Rights and Protection Act-2013, increasing allocation to protection trust of physically challenged people, establishing child development centre in all district Sadar hospitals, taking programmes for their self-employment and increasing budgetary allocations for their financial support and establishing research center in every division.
