Jatiya Ganotantrik League
A discussion marking 55th death anniversary of glorious leader Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque organised by Jatiya Ganotantrik League was held on the mazar premises of the late leader in the city on Thursday. In the programme Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and former Forest and Environment Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said Sher-e-Bangla was the dedicated patriotic leader. He recalled the contributions of Sher-e-Bangla. He expressed his gratitude to the late leader. He called upon all to build Bangladesh being imbued with the perceptions of Sher-e-Bangla and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He also called upon all patriotic political leaders to abide by the constitution and take part in the national election. The function was also addressed, among others, by former Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Investment Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of the World University Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, social worker Prof Dr Neelima Chowdhury, Awami League leader MA Karim, President of Krishak Proja Party Sirajul Islam and General Secretary of Muktijoddha Projanmo League Rokon Uddin Pathan. President of the organisation MA Jalil presided over the event.
Bharatia Parishad
A rally organised by Bharatia Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city demanding proper implementation of house rent control act. In the programme held recently the speakers said house owners of the city increase the house rent whimsically due to the ineffective of the house rent control act. They called upon the government and other authority concerned to adopt necessary measures for proper implementation of house rent control act for the greater interest of tenants in the city. General Secretary of the parishad Mir Mofazzal Hossain Mostak conducted the rally. The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of Biplobi Workers Party Saiful Haque, General Secretary of Samajtantrik Majdur Party Dr Shamsul Alam, General Secretary of Swadhinata Party AAM Faiz Hossain, Joint Secretary of the organisation Shahidul Islam and General Secretary of Bharatia Federation Baharane Sultan Bahar. The speakers called upon all tenants of the city to be united against the whimsical attitude of the house owners. President of the organisation Moktar Hossain Khan presided over the event.
