Chalok O Sramik Union
A rally organised by Dhaka Zilla CNG Auto-Rickshaw, Mishuk Chalok O Sramik Union was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Sunday. In the programme the leaders of the organisation demanded cancellation of all black laws which are against the interest of the employees of the union. They urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take necessary initiatives for the cancellation of all black laws including capital punishment for the drivers from Road Transport Law-2017. The leaders also called upon all the employees of the union to be united to continue the movement until their demands are met. The programme was addressed, among others, by Vice-Presidents of the organisation Abdul Mannaf, Abdul Zabbar, Organising Secretary Noor Morshed, sramik leaders Saifur Rahman, Abdul Barek, Nasir and Sona Miah. Labour leaders Abul Hosain and Tazul Islam have expressed their solidarity with the movement of the organisation. President of the union Rustam Ali Sarder presided over the function while its General Secretary Sakhawat Hossain Dulal conducted it.
Bangladesh Deshiya Chikitshak Samity
National convention of Bangladesh Deshiya Chikitshak Samity (BDCS) was held in the auditorium of Engineers Institution in the city on the 22nd instant. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim was present as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim urged BNP to take preparation for the next general election. The minister categorically said the polls will be held in line with the country’s constitution. He said the vested quarter who doesn’t abide by the constitution has no right to do politics on the holy soil of Bangladesh. Nasim said the next parliamentary election for 2019 will he be held under the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the country must run according to existing constitution. The minister said the Election Commission will ensure a free, fair and impartial poll as a referee and “We will accept the polls results what it would be.” The function was addressed, among others, by veteran politician Pankaj Bhattacharya, President of Bangladesh Agro-Processors Association AFM Fakhrul Islam Munsi, Managing Director of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh Dr Yusuf Harun Bhuiyan and its Secretary General Habibur Rahman. President of the samity Dr. M Mizanur Rahman presided over the event.
