Natun Dhara Bangladesh
Speakers at the national council of Natun Dhara Bangladesh (NDB) held in the city recently said they will build Bangladesh with the perception of independence by maintaining communal harmony. They called upon all to resist conspiracy and corruption. Convenor of NDB columnist Momin Mehedi presided over the programme. It was addressed, among others, by Joint Convenor of the organisation Shanta Farzana, Presidium members Kazi Masud Ahmed, Fazlul Haque, Lion Dr Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, Master MA Jalil, Lion Dr Rasheda Begum, Mohiuddin Akbor, Manirul Haque Chowdhury, Convenor of Garibee Hatao Andolon Comrade Nurul Haque Mehedi, General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarker Rana, President of Jatiya Ganotantrik League MA Jalil, President of NAP Bhasani Mostak Ahmed Bhasani and President of Gano Adhikar Party Hossain Mollah. In the council Momin Mehedi, Shanta Farzana and Mariom Aktar have been elected Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary General respectively.
Bangladesh Minority Sangram Parishad
A human chain organised by Bangladesh Minority Sangram Parishad (BMSP) was held in front of the National Press Club in the city recently with the President of the organisation Principal Ashok Taru in the chair. In the programme the speakers demanded immediate formation of special tribunal for the trial of those who are involved in polls-related violence and attacks on religious minority communities. It was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of BMSP Advocate Ashok Kumar Ghosh, Organising Secretary SK Badol, Treasurer Harendra Nath Majumder, Dr Mohon Lal Hawlader, Prodip Das, Utpal Majumder, Engineer Uttam Kumar Saha, Uttam Das, Bikash Rajbangshi, Nilkamol Roy, Srimati Rina Pandit and Gopal Krishna Dey. The speakers urged the government to ensure security of the religious minority communities.
