Jatiya Juba Jote
A discussion organised by Jatiya Juba Jote, an affiliate organisation of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) marking its 12th founding anniversary was held at the Taher auditorium in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue recently. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest. While speaking Inu said that Khaleda Zia’s tears of endearment for militants would convince nobody. “People want a peaceful country devoid of militants,” he said. The minister further said, “Khaleda Zia had repeatedly proved that she was a partner of militants. She dislikes people and the country when they were at peace.” “If militancy was bad then their partners were equally bad”, Inu explained. The programme was addressed, among others, by leaders of JSD and fraternal youth organisations. President of the organisation Rokonuzzaman Rokon presided over the function.
Workers Party
General Secretary of Workers Party Fazle Hossain Badsha in a statement on Sunday hailed execution of death penalty of Al Badr Commander and Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali for his crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation. Badsha said the country has taken a one more step forward to repay the debt to the martyrs with the execution of the death penalty of Mir Quasem. “Banning the politics of Jamaat is now the demand of time,” he said and also demanded confiscation of properties of the convicted war criminals. Badsha termed Mir Quasem as Kashai (butcher) of Chittagong for his heinous role in killing of people in Chittagong, saying that he was the third top leader of the Al Badr, a killing squad and associate force of the Pakistani occupation force.
