A human chain organised by Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Chhatra Mahajote was formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club recently. In the programme the leaders of the organisation demanded three-day government holiday for Durga Puja, the greatest religious festival of the Hindu community. The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation Proshanta Halder, its Organizing Secretary Sajen Krishna, Senior Vice-President of Hindu Mahajote Dr Achinta Kumar Mondol, its Chief Coordinator Bijoy Krishna Bhattachariya, President of Hindu Juba Mahajote Sumon Kumar Roy and its Executive President Debashish Saha. President of Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Chhatra Mahajote Nihar Pramanik presided over the event.
Bangabandhu Gabeshana Parishad
A discussion on ‘Need for Implementation of Bangabandhu’s Ideals To Prevent Militancy andTerrorism’ organised by Bangabandhu Gabeshana Parishad was held on Saturday at the Jatiya Press Club. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq was present as the chief guest at the function. While speaking Mozammel demanded removal of the graves of Ziaur Rahman and all others from the parliament area which are not in the design of the Jatiya Sangsad. There is no room for militancy in Islam, he said, adding that those who kill people in the name of religion are the followers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Moududi, he added. The programme was addressed, among others, by Begum Hosne Ara Babli, MP, Bangladesh Mukjijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council Vice-Chairman Ismat Qadir Gama, Awami League Sub-committee Assistant Secretary MA Karim and General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarkar Rana. President of the parishad Lion M Gani Mian Babul presided over the event.
