A discussion on ‘Philosophy of Bangabandhu: The Main Diagnosis for Elimination of Fundamentalist Communal Terrorism’ organised by Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs in the city’s Dhanmondi. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was present as the chief guest. While speaking the minister said efforts are on to bring back fugitive killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. ‘The process for bringing back home two fugitive killers of Bangabandhu, who have taken shelter in Canada and the United States, is delayed due to legal complications,” he added. The programme was also addressed, among others, by Executive Director of Regional Anti-Terrorist Research Institute Maj Gen (Retd) Mohammad Ali Shikdar, Executive Director of the Institute of Conflict Law and Development Studies Maj Gen (Retd) Mohammad Abdur Rashid, noted dramatist Ramendu Mazumder and Shyamali Nasreen Chowdhury, wife of a martyr.
Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation
A discussion and Doa Mahfil organised by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) was held at its headquarters in the city on Monday marking the National Mourning Day commemorating the 41st martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon was present as the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking Menon said democracy and militancy can’t run together and that’s why militancy should be eliminated from the country for the sake of forward march of democracy and national development. “People of the country should be involved in the country’s development process converting the grief of the irreparable loss of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman into strength,” he added. Chairman of the corporation Dr Aparup Chowdhury presided over the programme.
