The conference of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Lalbagh-Kamrangirchar Branch was held at Kamrangirchar in the city on Friday. General Secretary of CPB, Lalbagh-Kamragirchar Branch Arnab Sarker inaugurated the programme. In the function the speakers bitterly criticized the heinous terror attacks in Holey Artisan Bakery in the city’s Gulshan and Sholakia Eidgah ground in Kishoreganj. They called upon all to build united resistance against militancy and communalism for the greater interest of the nation. The event was addressed, among others, by members of the organisation Khan Asaduzzaman Masum, Sukanta Shafi Kamol, Engr Sheikh Ruhul Amin, Aminul Islam and Mahmudur Rahman Biral. General Secretary of the organisation Arnab Sarker presided over the function.
Readymade Garments Federation
A discussion meeting organised jointly by Readymade Garments Federation and Dhaka District CNG, Autorickshaw, Mishuk Drivers and Workers Union was held in the Conference Lounge of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city’s Segunbagicha on Friday. Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan was present as the chief guest. While speaking Shajahan blamed BNP-Jamaat alliance with conspiring to destroy Islam and not protecting the sanctity of the holy religion. “BNP-Jamaat or the extremists cannot be the savers of Islam. It is only the Awami League which would able to save the holy religion. The extremists being backed by the foreigners are hatching conspiracy to destroy Islam”, the minister added. Vehemently opposing the national unity called by BNP, the minister said there will be no national unity with those who are having an alliance with Jamaat. Khan said the killing of innocent Muslims on a Gulshan café’and at Sholakia on the Eid day by the militants chanting Islamic slogans bore testimony to the fact they are not Muslims or believers of Islam. Chairman of the federation Lovely Yasmin presided over the programme.
