A human chain organised by Bangladesh Awami Muktijoddha Projanmo League was formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Saturday demanding trial and exemplary punishment to the patrons of militants. Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan was present as the chief guest. While speaking the minister said those who help militants with money and arms are national enemies. “Those who help militants will be identified as not only national enemies but also national betrayers. There is no room in Bangladesh for the betrayers who help militants,” he added. The programme was addressed, among ohers, by former Home Minister Shamsul Huq Tuku, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote General Secretary Arun Sarkar Rana and President of the organisation Asaduzzaman Durjoy.
Referring to the doubt of BNP leaders over the killing of militants at Kalyanpur in the city, Shajahan Khan said it is normal that they would raise questions whether the persons killed are militants or not, as these BNP leaders patronize the militants. These BNP leaders will have to face public wrath, he added.
