Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal
A rally organised by Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Wednesday. In the rally the speakers urged the government to give adequate relief for the flood-affected people. They also urged the government to take necessary arrangements for their rehabilitation. The speakers called upon the affluent section of the society to extend their helping hands for the flood-hit people.
The programme was addressed, among others, by central committee members of the organisation Comrade Fakhruddin Kabir Atik and Comrade Saifuzzaman Sakon. Central committee member of BSD Shubhrangshu Chakravarty presided over the function.
Bangladesh Unnayan Parishad
A roundtable discussion on ‘Strengthening SDG Implementation in Bangladesh’ organised by Bangladesh Unnayan Parishad (BUP) was held at the Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday. In the function the speakers said a unilateral quality education system should be introduced to ensure sustainable development by removing disparities and empowering the people meaningfully. They said people need to be empowered to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and quality education can ensure such empowerment, remove disparities and poverty from the society. The programme was addressed, among others, by Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Chairman Dr Qazi Khaliquzzaman Ahmad, former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Khondker Ibrahim Khaled, PKSF Managing Director Md Abdul Karim and BUP Executive Director Dr Nilufar Banu. Vice-Chairman of the parishad Dr Rezaul Karim presided over the function.
