Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad
An emergency meeting on ‘What To Do To Tackle the COVID-19’ organised by Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad was held at the conference room of Srama Bhaban in the city on Sunday. In the programme the leaders of the parishad demanded the government measures to keep factories open now and strengthen health safety of labours inside factories in the wake of outbreak of novel coronavirus. The labour leaders also demanded forming combined taskforce, providing doctors at every factory, and holding of a meeting of owners, labours and buyer groups. The programme was attended, among others, by Labour and Employment Secretary K M Ali Azam, Inspector General of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments Shib Nath Roy, Bangladesh Trade Union Kendra General Secretary Dr Wazedul Islam Khan and Bangladesh Garments Labour Federation President Advocate Delwar Hossain Khan. They urged for united efforts to combat spread of coronavirus.
