Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote

A commemorative meeting marking the third death anniversary of veteran parliamentarian and former Presidium Member of Awami League (AL) Suranjit Sengupta organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held at the Jatiya Press Club on Sunday. AL Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim was present as the chief guest in the programme. While speaking Nasim brushed aside BNP’s threat to wage anti- government movement, He said AL is not afraid of such threats and if any quarter resorts to destructive activities in the name of movement will be thwarted at any cost. Recalling the activities of Suranjit Sengupta, Nasim said he was a popular political leader, a veteran freedom-fighter and a farsighted organiser. Suranjit Sengupta was one of the leading composers of the constitution of Bangladesh. The function was also addressed, among others, by AL leaders Dilip Roy, Advocate Baloram Poddar and General Secretary of the jote Arun Sarkar Rana. Adviser of the organisation Syed Hasan Imam presided over the event.
