Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad
Leaders of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mohanagar Sarbojanin Puja Committee urged the Election Commission to reschedule the election date set for the two Dhaka city corporations’ polls as the Hindu community would celebrate Saraswati Puja on the day. The demand was made on the twenty sixth instant at a joint meeting of the two organisations held in the city.The Hindu community leaders said Saraswati Puja will be observed in almost all the educational institutions of the capital on January 30, the day of the two city corporations’ polls.
