Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad
Essential commodities and masks were distributed among dwellers in the city’s Sayedabad area at a ceremony organised by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad. Under the supervision of the organisation’s General secretary Shahadat Hossain Toel, packets of various essential food items, including rice, pulse, potato and onion, and masks were distributed among around 300 people in the area recently following the health guidelines. Welcoming the initiative of Swadhinata Parishad, Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud in a message said those, who have come forward for the welfare of the people responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will be remembered for their contribution in tackling the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The programme was addressed, among others, by AL leaders Advocate Balram Poddar and MA Karim and President of the organisation Jinnah Ali Khan Jinnah. Adviser of the parishad and freedom fighter Masudur Rahman moderated the event.
