Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharya said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman believed in equality of man and dreamt to build a non-communal nation. He said this while addressing as the chief guest at a programme held at Shri Shri Dhakeshwari National Temple in the city on Monday to provide financial assistance to the needy people organized by Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu. Swapan further said the historic 7 March speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a remarkable chapter for the Bangalee nation as it made the nation united and liberated the country through a long and bloody struggle of nine months. The function was also addressed, among others, by Professors of Department of Culture, Dhaka University Dr Asim Sarkar, Dr. Sanchita Guha and Prof. Dr. Nim Chandra Bhowmik. President of the parishad Milon Kanti Dutt presided over the event.
