A discussion marking the 107th birth anniversary of Bangalee revolutionary nationalist Pritilata Waddedar organised by Bangabandhu Sangskriik Jote was held at Sagar-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity. Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present in the programme held on the fifth instant as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan recalled the contributions of Pritilata. He also said the crisis involving BNP’s top leadership exposed to a difficult state. Hasan said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia went to jail on graft charges while its acting Chief Tarique Rahman now living abroad to evade justice, a situation which exposed the party to a crisis. “(But) BNP itself will have to resolve its internal crises,” he added. The function was also addressed, among others, by Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, Founding General Secretary of the organisation Sarah Begum Kabari and AL leader Advocate Bolram Poddar. Adviser of the organisation Chittaranjan Das presided over the event.
