Garments Sramik Trade Union Kendra
President and General Secretary of Garment Sramik Trade Union Kendra Advocate Mantu Ghosh and Joly Talukdar respectively in a statement issued on Sunday expressed grave concern over the fire incident at Asiana Garment Inda, Limited factory in the city’s Rampura. The leaders demanded fair probe into the fire incident. They also demanded proper medical treatment to two injured employees of the factory Chama and Sohel. The leaders also called upon the authority concerned to take necessary arrangements for ensuring safe environment at the workplaces for the garment employees.
BD Plant Taxonomic Society
The new executive body of Bangladesh Plant Taxonomic Society has been formed with Dr M Matiur Rahman as its President and Prof Dr Mohammad Jashim Uddin as General Secretary respectively for three-year tenure . The 19-member committee was made at its general meeting held recently. Other office-bearers of the organisation are- Prof Dr Momtaz Begum and Prof Dr Harun-ur-Rashid as the Vice-Presidents, Prof Dr Saleh Ahmmad Khan and Dr Mahbuba Sultana as the Joint Secretaries and Prof Dr Mohammed Almujaddade Alfasane as Treasurer. Members of the committee are Prof Dr ZN Tahmida Begum, Prof Dr Mostafa Kamal Pasha, Prof Dr Shamim Shamsi, Dr Md Khairul Alam, Dr Hosne Ara, Prof Dr Md Oliur Rahman, Prof Dr AKM Golam Sarwar, Prof Dr AHM Mahbubur Rahman, Dr Sarder Nasir Uddin, Dr Nahid Sultana, Professor Dr Md Abul Hassan and Dr Haseeb Md Irfanuallah.
