Save The Road
A rally organised by Save The Road, a non-government organisation was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday. In the programme the speakers called upon the authority concerned to stop road accident. They urged to ensure safe journey for all. The function was addressed, among others, by Secretary General of the organisation Shanta Farzana, its Adviser journalist Mahiuddun Akbar, Vice-Chairman Chanchal Mehmud Kashem, Joint Secretary General Dr Noorjahan Nira and Organizing Secretary Hasibul Haque Punam. Founder of the organisation Momin Mehedi presided over the function.
BD Retired Govt Employees Welfare Assoc
A views exchange meeting organised by Bangladesh Retired Government Employees Welfare Association, the apex body of the Retired government employees was held in Manikganj on Saturday. In the programme the leaders of the association demanded to increase their medical allowances, equalization of their pension with the newly retired employees, make arrangement so that they get their pension through their respective bank accounts and implementation of the ‘Senior Citizen’ Ordinance of the government. They said that a newly retired secretary of the government getting pension about Taka fifty thousand per month while another one of the same level who retired about 12-15 years ago is drawing Taka six thousand only.
