Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad
A discussion organised by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad was held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity at Segunbagicha in the city. Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam was present as the chief guest in the programme held on the seventh instant. While speaking Qamrul urged BNP leaders not to mislead people by spreading falsehood over the health condition and treatment of Begum Khaleda Zia who is imprisoned at the old Dhaka Central Jail in a graft case. “BNP leaders are spreading misinformation over Begum Khaleda Zia’s health condition and treatment. The government will ensure all facilities to provide treatment to her as per the jail code,” he added. The minister urged the people to remain alert if BNP again tries to carry out violence in the name of movement. The function was also addressed, among others, by Dhaka City South Awami League General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, President of the organisation Jinnat Ali Khan and its General Secretary Shahadat Hossain. Adviser of the parishad Zakir Ahmed presided over the event.
