JU Cultural Alliance
A 10-member executive body of Jahangirnagar University Cultural Alliance (JUCA) has been elected for the next one year. Ashikur Rahman of Jahangirnagar Theatre and Shahidul Islam Pappu of Dhoni, a cultural organization, were elected as President and General Secretary respectively in a election held recently on the university campus. After the election, Former Secretary of JUCA Nazmul Hasan announced the new executive body. The other office-bearers of the committee are:Vice-Presidents-Tanvir Hasan, Mahathir Mohammed, Treasurer-Shahadat Hossain Shadhin, Office Secretary-Prithula Prashun Puja, Publicity and Publication affair Secretary-Maruf Mozammel. Executive Members are-Khalid Mithun, Zenifar Ehsan, Hasan Mahdi Rukas, Tahsin Asrar and Shahadat Noman. JUCA is a unity of a total of 12 TSC based cultural organisations of the university.
Dhaka Mahanagari Samity
A discussion on glorious Independence and National Day organised by Dhaka Mahanagari Samity (Dhaka Samity) was held at its office in the city’s Nayabazar on Monday. The programme was addressed, among others, by Secretary General of the samity Sarder Faisal Bashar, its Vice-President Saidur Rahman Patel and Executive Member of he samity Fazlur Rahman Parbat. A cultural function was also held on the occasion. Vice-President of the samity Abu Motaleb presided over the event.
