Samajtantrik Mahila Forum
A rally organised by Samajtantrik Mahila Forum was held in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city recently. In the rally the speakers demanded exemplary punishment to those involved in killing Sohagi Jahan Tonu, a student of Comilla Victoria College. The event was addressed, among others, by central member of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal Bazlur Rashid Firoj, Ganosangeet artiste Mahmuduzzaman Babu, central Advisory Committee member of Mahila Forum Shamsunnahar Jayotsona, member Rukhsana Afroj Asha, General Secretary of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, Dhaka city unit Mukta Baroi and General Secretary of the forum, Jahangirnagar University unit Susmita Mariam. General Secretaty, central of the organisation Engineer Shampa Basu conducted the rally while President of the organisation Rawshan Ara Rusho presided over the programme.

Regulatory Authority
A seminar organised by Insurance Development Regulatory Authority (IDRA) was held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the city. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest. While speaking Inu called for boosting insurance sector to ensure economic stability in the country. ‘Insurance is essential for a secure future….. We have to promote the concept of insurance for maintaining social and economic stability,’ he said. The minister described state as the biggest insurance institutions for the people and it must ensure security of the people from any risk factors. He urged all including relevant organisations to promote and expand the insurance sector for ensuring more economic progress as well as secure of life of the people. President of the organisation Shefat Ahmed presided over the programme.
