Some distinguished persons of the country in a statement demanded immediate release of the Convenor of Nagorik Oikya, former VP of Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) and a veteran politician Mahmudur Rahman Manna. The persons, among others, are Adviser of the organisation and former MP SM Akram, Former MP and columnist Golam Moula Rony, former President of Dhaka Lawyers Association and Presidium Member of Ganoforum Advocate SM Altaf Hossain, Former MP and Chandpur district Chairman Prof Dr Shahidul Islam, former Acting Secretary Daliluddin Mondol, Former MP and Kushtia district Chairman Ahsan Habib Lincon, Central Committee Member of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal Rajekuzzaman Raton, Educationist Principal Harunur Rashid Pathan and human rights organiser Dr Bishwanath Sarker.

Young Bangla and the Center for Research and Information (CRI) launched the first ever internship opportunity for the university level students of Bangladesh with the leading software giant Microsoft Bangladesh. A programme titled “Career Talk on Becoming a Microsoft Intern and Brand Ambassador” was held on Tuesday at the seminar room of the Civil Engineering building of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) with over 300 students from BUET and Dhaka University in attendance.
The programme illustrated the details of the said opportunities, drawing spontaneous attention and interest from the participants. Addressing the event, Sonia Bashir Kabir, Managing Director, Microsoft Bangladesh revealed that the two month internship and ambassadorship scheme will provide participants with first-hand experience centering working environment at leading multinational companies as well as help them develop their skills required to lift them in such height after their academic life.
