A rally organised by Amra Muktijoddhar Santan was held at the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the city on Saturday. In the rally Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Liberation War Affairs Ministry Captain (Retd) AB Tajul Islam, MP was present as the chief guest. While speaking Tajul said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Bangladesh will go ahead with the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The event was addressed, among others, by Chairman of Jatiya Muktijoddha Samonnoy Committee Md Harun Ar Rashid, Secretary General Shafiqul Bahar Majumder Tipu, General Secretary of the organisation Syed Ashraful Islam Nayan, Presidium Member Emdadul Haque and General Secretary of the organisation’s Dhaka city unit Shahjahan Rizvi. President of the organisation Humayun Kabir presided over the programme.
Bangali Sangskritik Jote
A new cultural alliance namely ‘Bangali Sangskritik Jote’ was formed at Jatiya Press Club in the city recently. The cultural alliance of 36 organisations has been formed being inspired with the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Jote Convener Saiful Azam Bashar described the background and necessity of forming the cultural alliance. He said Bangabandhu’s expected ‘Sonar Bangla’ could be built by establishing a close of indigenous culture with politics. The alliance has 30 eminent cultural personalities as its members. Among others, Dr. Enamul Haq, Falguni Hamid, Abdul Jabbar, Manoranjanshil Ghoshal, Shibu Roy and Rabindra Gop spoke on the occasion. Saiful Azam Bashar said more intending organisations could be included in the alliance later. Bashar called for a greater cultural movement to resist the fundamentalist forces as they are big threat to the country’s culture.
