Karmojibi Nari
President and General Secretary of Karmojibi Nari Dr Protima Pal Majumder and Sharmin Kabir respectively in a statement on Thursday bitterly criticized violation of a garment employee in Narayanganj. They demanded exemplary punishment to culprit(s) involved in the heinous crime. They demanded interference of law enforcers to beef up security for the protection of female garment employees. Besides, they also called upon all to build up united movement in everywhere including garment industries, mahalla and educational institutions to resist repression on women and children.
EWU Agro Industrial Club
A seminar on ‘Agricultural Economy and Potential Bangladesh’ organised by East West University (EWU) Agro Industrial Club was held on Wednesday on its campus at Aftabnagar in the city. Agricultural Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury was present as the chief guest. While speaking Matia said after being self-sufficient in food production, it is now the time to turn on cash crop production and that change will benefit to farmers.
Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of Board of Trustees of the university and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank presided over the function. Vice-Chancellor of EWU Prof Dr M M Shahidul Hassan, among others, spoke on the occasion.
