A discussion on ‘Historic Jail Killing Day’ organised by Awami-Muktijoddah Projonmo League (AMPL) was held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in the city’s Kakrail. Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary of Awami League Dr Hasan Mahmud, MP was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said despite adopting highest efforts the government has been failing to prevent attacks from the militant outfits as a big political party. Dr Hasan said the killing of two foreign citizens and the attacks on Shia’s Tajia procession, bloggers and publishers and members of the law enforcement agencies are rooted in the same origin. The event was also addressed, among others, by Vice-President of Dhaka City Awami League Fayez Uddin Mia, Krishak League leader Abdul Hai Kanu and Secretary General of Bangabandhu Academy Humayun Kabir Miji. President of the organisation Advocate Asaduzzaman Durjoy presided over the programme.
