Elderly man dies of ‘sound of crude bomb blast’

An elderly man died reportedly following violent sound of crude bomb blast during a clash at Chhabbispara village in Zanjira upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Khaleque Talukdar alias Malek, 72, son of late Abdul Quadir Talukdar of the village.
Locals said victim’s younger brother Abu Talukdar had been at loggerheads with his cousin Abdul Halem Talukdar.
As a sequel of the enmity, their men locked into a clash around 11am, leaving several persons injured.
Later, associates of Halem hurled five crude bombs at Abu Talukdar’s house and Malek collapsed on the ground under the impact of the sound. He was taken to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
