Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote
A discussion organized on the occasion of Mass Upsurge Day by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held in the city on Friday with President of the jote and cultural personality Advocate Tarana Halim in the chair.
The leaders led by its Vice-President and General secretary Sheikh Jahangir Alam and Arun Sarker Rana respectively paid rich tributes to Shaheed Matiur Rahman by placing floral wreaths at his portrait in the city’s Bakshibazar Nabakumar Institute.
 They offered prayers for the salvation of the departed soul of Matiur. The discussion was addressed, among others, by Syed Hasan Imam, ATM Shamsuzzaman, Falguni Hamid, Pijush Bandopadhyai, Dr Enamul Haque, Advocate Balaram Poddar, Mobarak Ali Sikder, Arun Sarker Rana, Sheikh Jahangir Alam, Anwar Hossain Majnu, Ruhunnesa Runa, Poet Rabindra Gope and Afsar Uddin.
The leaders called upon all to make Bangladesh as a non-communal country and resist communal forces. They also urged the government to arrest the attackers on religious minority communities and give exemplary punishment.
