Lightning kills 6 in 3 dists

At least three people including women were killed in separate lighting strikes in Bajitpur and Mitamoin upazilas of Kishoreganj on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Md Abdur Rashid, 35, son of Abdul Majid hailing from Barhatta upazila in Netrokona, Towhid Miah ,28, son of Samed Miah of Baherbali village of Bajitpur upaizla and Rupchand Akhter ,62, wife of Md Farhad Chowdhury Bhurbhuri village of Mitamoin upazila.
Locals and Bajitpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saifur Islam said that Rashid was hit by lighting while harvesting Boro pady at Maijchar Haor around 4.30 pm and leaving him dead on the spot.
In another incident, Tohid was struck by a thunderbolt while harvesting paddy at Baherbali haor around 5.40 pm.
A women was killed and her husband injured in a lighting strike at Bhurbhuri village in Mithamoin upazila.
Police and locals said that a thunderbolt hit the couple around 7.30 pm when they were went to their cropland near their residence.
Rupchand Akhter died on the spot.
UNB from Habiganj reports: In Habiganj, two farmers died as they were struck by lightning at Sujonpur village in Lakhai upazila in the afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Nakul Miah, 55, son of late Abdul Kadir, and Apan Miah, 30, son of Delwar Ali of the village.
The duo was working in a local paddy field when a thunderbolt bore down on them, killing them on the spot, said Lakhai upazila parishad Chairman Arif Ahmed Rupam.
UNB from Tangail adds: A farmer was killed as a thunderbolt hit him at Charpakulla village in Sadar Upazila here on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Zulu Mia, 55, son of Year Ali of the village.
Locals said the lightning struck Zulu around 1:30pm while he was working at a paddy field near his house at the village during storm, leaving him severely injured.
Zulu died on his way to the hospital said Sayedur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Tangail Sadar Police Station.
