A rich tribute was paid to the forerunner of women’s movement Comrade Hena Das in a commemorative meeting organized recently on the occasion of her 90th birth anniversary by the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) at its office in Muktibhaban in the city’s Purana Palton.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by CPB President Mujahidul Islam Selim, presidium member Laxmi Chakravarty, members of the central committee Ruhin Hossain Prince, Chandan Siddhanta, Advocate Maksuda Aktar, Advocate Ainun Nahar Lipi and Rokeya Begum.
While addressing comrade Selim said Hena Das played a pioneering role in anti-British Movement, Language Movement and Liberation War. She will be remembered as an example of progressive movement, he added.
She is the source of our inspiration, Selim further added. The leaders also placed floral wreaths at the memorial plaque of Hena Das at Narayanganj crematorium.
