Though some have hailed the recent central bank order increasing the amount payable through credit cards and wire transfers from $25,000 to $30,000 and raising the amount that can be endorsed on a credit card by entrepreneurs in the sector from $2,500 to $6000, others believe these measures to be insufficient.
The Bangladesh Bank decision was praised by BASIS President Mustafa Jabbar and Vice President Rashidul Hassan.
Both leaders of the IT business association believe the easing of these restrictions will help IT companies that are not export oriented.
