Director General of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Manjurul Hannan stressed the needs for organic and safe food security for the nation by 2018 for a healthier nation.
The agriculturists of the country should ensure best services to fulfill the target of the government as the country has been importing rice and other food grains abroad instead reducing the import of the same now days.
Manjurul was addressing a seminar with the senior agriculture officers of the DAE at the regional meeting of the department in Khulna Division held at the DAE Jhenaidah auditorium on Friday noon.
Presided over by the additional director of the department in Jesssore region Chandidas Kundu, Manjurul was addressing as Chief Guest.
Khulna Divisional regional director Nityaranjan Biswas, deputy director of DAE in Jhenaidah Shah Akramul Haque, Deputy Director in Narail Aminul Islam, Deputy Project Director of Mujibnagar Integrated Agriculture Development Project Rhul Kabir, Upazila agriculture officer of Jhenaidah Sadar Dr Khan Mohammad Maniruzzaman and other officials of ten southern districts were present there.
