We need self-realization for change to be able to do what is our patriotic duty, said Barrister Mainul Hosein last night in a talk show popularly known as Front Line aired on Banglavision TV Channel. He called upon the patriotic forces to act together to save the country explaining that only in a free country one has to pass the test of patriotism and we must pass that test in this hour of grave national crisis.Conducted by senior journalist Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, the talk show was also participated by Major General (retd) Maniruzzaman, architect Mobasher Hossain and advocate Tanvir Siddique. Barrister Mainul expressed the view that in a free country all the law enforcing agencies, RAB police not excluded, are for the people still these agencies are politically abused to make people die inhumanly in their hands or with their help.He reminded that under our Constitution all the government servants are servants of the Republic and this constitutional obligation is forgotten easily.Barrister Mainul observed that the people feel too much helpless and too much frightened because the forces of the law enforcing agencies cannot be trusted by them. If they did not allow themselves to be abused politically our people would have all the power to resist and not to die and suffer as if they have been abandoned.Under one unelected government we have many mini-unelected governments causing anarchy and mayhem, in many parts of the country, he observed. But according to him the real damage is being done by the jobless technocrats who, taking advantage of the leadership void, came from here and there to misguide the government. It is they who engineered the election to claim that voter less election is constitutional, the prime minister is elected. They have no concern that how embarrassing it is for the prime minister and the nation. For their mischiefs they must not feel unaccountable, Barrister Hosein said. Commenting on Narendra Modi, the new prime minister of India, Barrister Mainul said in brief that he is a man of strong leadership with strong views while our leadership is too weak. The Indian factor in politics is our problem, he said. Both the leaders have shown exceptional eagerness to draw his attention.
