Bangladesh Juba Union
A rally organised by Bangladesh Juba Union, Palton thana unit was held in Purana Palton intersection in the city. In the programme held recently the leaders of the union bitterly criticisesd the eviction of hawkers from the city’s footpath. They demanded to rehabilitate hawkers before eviction. The event was addressed, among others, by President of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Palton thana unit Murshiqul Islam Shimul, Central leader of Juba Union Khan Asaduzzaman Masum, Vice-President of Hawkers Union Abul Kalam and President of Juba Union, Dhaka Mahanagar Committee Habib Emon. General Secretary of Palton thana Juba Union Noor-e-Alam Shahin Bhuiyan presided over the function.
BD Salt Mills Owners Assoc
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said a slat board will be formed to protect the interest of salt farmers and develop the salt industry. He said this recently while addressing a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Salt Mills Owners Association at the Industries Ministry. “Everyone, related to the slat industry, will represent in the board. Through this, effective steps will be taken to modernize the salt industry and develop the living standard of salt farmers,” the minister added. The function was also attended, among others, by President of the association Nurul Kabir, its Senior Vice President M Motaherul Islam, Vice President Omar Faruk Mithu and Joint Chief of the Industries Ministry Dr M Aktharuzzaman. The minister said the government is working to protect the interest of domestic salt farmers.
