Online tea auction starts soon

Chairman of Bangladesh Tea Board Major General Md. Ashraful Islam NDC, PSC said, there is no alternative to fully launch online tea auction system to make the tea auction and tea marketing activities of the country more dynamic.
 He said it is time to implement it as part of building a digital Bangladesh of the present government. The Traders Association of Bangladesh (TTAB) needs to take immediate action in this regard. This will allow buyers to purchase tea at home. Garden owners can also find out about the price of tea during the auction. He was speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting with TTAB and tea broker representatives after inspecting the auction activities at Chittagong Auction Center on Monday.
An online tea auction has already been launched experimentally. We want the full online tea auction to start soon. He said TTAB would be given all possible assistance for the necessary technical assistance, training and infrastructure development.
He also called upon all stakeholders to focus on production-quality-price in order to develop the tea industry as a whole. Activities are ongoing. TTAB is in close contact with the Bangladesh Tea Board.
 The meeting was attended by members of the Bangladesh Tea Board (Finance and Commerce). Nazneen Kawser Chowdhury emphasized on the positive role of Bangladesh Tea Board by placing special emphasis on online tea auctions. Mohammad Nurul Alam Chowdhury, Secretary (Acting) Mr. Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Public Relations and Labor Welfare Officer Md. Rajibul Hasan, Marketing Officer Mr. Ahsan Habib, Former President of TTAB Mr. Shah Moinuddin Hasan, representatives of brokers and tea traders were present during the meeting sources said.
