The online admission process for the first year honours courses at Dhaka University (DU) for 2014-15 academic years began on Thursday.DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the admission process at his office at noon.The admission seekers have been advised to visit DU website www.admission.univdhaka.edu for necessary guidelines and they have been asked to fill up their admission forms through online by August 31.Students who passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations in 2013 and 2014 can apply for admission at the country’s premier higher educational institution.Students having minimum total GPA-8 in SSC and HSC exams (without fourth subject) can apply for admission in subjects under ‘Ka’ unit while candidates with minimum GPA-7 under ‘Kha’ unit, GPA-7.5 under ‘Ga’ unit and GPA-7 under Humanities, GPA-8 in Science and GPA-7.5 in Business Studies under ‘Gha’ unit.The admission test of ‘Ka’ unit will be held on September 12 while that of ‘Kha’ unit on September 19, ‘Ga’ unit on September 5, ‘Gha’ unit on September 26 and “Cha” unit on September 13. A total of 6,600 seats have been allocated for admission under five units-1,640 seats for “Ka” unit, 2,221 for ‘Kha’ unit, 1,170 for ‘Ga’ unit, 1,416 for ‘Gha’ unit and 135 for ‘Cha’ unit.
