Police detained one Mamun, a teenager, in connection of mass violating a housewife in Hizla of Barishal district.
Masudur Rahman, officer in charge of Hizla police station, said a house wife aged about 25 of Maddha Chain in Dhulia under Mehendiganj upazila of Barishal resides with husband at Dhaka came to visit relative in native village on Eid holidays.
On Friday afternoon the housewife accompanied by a relative renting an auto-rickshaw driven by Zakir Hossen Golandaz of Amtali, Barguna, went to visit relatives at Chowdhury Para of Hizla.
On the way some hooligans following and stopping the auto-rickshaw beat the driver and relative of the housewife.
Then miscreants abducting the housewife took to a nearby garden and violated her.
After informed by the local people, a team led by Inspector Mainuddin Ahmed, officer in charge (investigation) of the police station rushed to the spot rescued the violated housewife and her accompanied youth.
Police also detained a teenage boy named Mamun from the spot as a suspected miscreant.
A case was registered under act for preventing torture against women and children and the victim sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital on Saturday for medical test.
The housewife alleged before the police that after abduction 4/5 miscreants violated her and detained teenager Mamun although accompanied the miscreants, but not participated in violation.
Police interrogating Mamun informed about the identifications of the violators and trying to arrest them, the OC of the police station informed.
