One Stop Emergency Care at CMCH soon

Radical changes are coming in the emergency department of Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital after the reforms. One Stop Emergency Care is being named in place of the emergency department. Not only the name but also the type of service is changing. Patients will get medical services here in the form of one stop service. The renovation work is almost at an end.
CMC Hospital Director Brigadier General SM Humayun Kabir said the service would be launched in the middle of next month.
The hospital administration says X-rays will be added to one-stop emergency care to diagnose emergencies. Two Operation Theaters (OTs) and six High Dependent Units (HDOs) will be set up. There are also plans to add 4 ICU beds in phases. And at least 5 rooms are being set up for doctors. Consultants will be employed full time (on shift basis) in all the necessary departments including Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Nose-Ear-Throat and Anesthesia.
One-stop emergency care is being provided with 100 beds for patients, the hospital’s current director Brigadier General SM Humayun Kabir said. . If testing is required, it will also be done here.
The proposal calls for bringing the emergency department under one-stop service through reforms. The ministry was asked to allocate the necessary funds for the implementation of this reform work. In this context, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare allocated Tk 4 crore to bring the emergency department under one-stop service through reforms
